Taking to the Skies: Duct Cleaning on the Valaris 122 Offshore Rig
One of the most interesting and exciting locations we’ve worked in is the Valaris 122 (or V122), a platform in the North Sea built in 2014. The rig can drill down to depths of over 12km and accommodates around 150 people.
Helicopter Access and Offshore Safety Training
Located offshore, our team travelled by helicopter to the site after undergoing specialised safety training. We have worked on other rigs in the past, but these were towed to shore for maintenance, which meant this was a new experience for the team! We completed a BOSIET course to ensure we could respond to any emergency situations while working offshore.
Full System Clean for Kitchen and Accommodation Ventilation
We were tasked with cleaning the entire supply and extraction ductwork for the rig. This work included the kitchen extraction systems and accommodation area ventilation systems. Our team utilised rotary brushing equipment in conjunction with HEPA-filtered air movers to dislodge and remove any debris found. A serious deep clean!
We completed the work in 11 days while minimising disruption as much as possible.
