The challenge
What we were asked to resolve
Living quarters remained occupied throughout, so ventilation serving accommodation, galley and laundry had to be cleaned without shutting down life support to any manned area.
Our approach
- Permit-to-work and isolation requirements agreed with the installation's maintenance team before arrival.
- Systems cleaned zone by zone so accommodation ventilation was never off-line across the whole installation.
- Galley grease and laundry lint removed under containment with controlled waste handling.
- Airflow checked and recorded on completion of each zone.
Outcome
All manned-area ventilation was cleaned and verified without disruption to accommodation, with a photographic record supplied for the installation's maintenance file.
