What we were asked to resolve
The ward could not be closed. Ventilation serving clinical space had no recent cleanliness evidence, and access above the clinical ceiling was limited and uncatalogued.
Our approach
- Systems surveyed and referenced against the estate's asset records before any works began.
- Containment, working windows and reinstatement standards agreed with estates and infection prevention and control.
- Works phased bay by bay overnight so the ward remained in clinical use throughout.
- Access panels installed where inspection openings were missing or undersized.
Outcome
The full accessible system was cleaned and verified with photographic evidence against each asset reference, giving the trust a dated compliance record and a scheduled re-inspection date.
